What are the differences between wet-rated products?

DAMP

Damp-rated fixtures are used in places that have some contact with moisture vs. direct exposure.

They are not fully sealed but can be used in many situations where they could encounter light moisture such as bathrooms or storage closets, covered patios, doorways, etc. where partial enclosures protect them from the elements.

WET

Wet-rated fixtures are used in places with direct exposure to dew, water, and snow.

Fixtures with a wet rating use waterproof seals to protect internal components from moisture, eliminating leaks and allowing them to safely function where others would fail.

Generally, wet-rated fixtures support harsh environments and are vital for a fixture that touches the ground.

IP65

IP65 rated fixtures are used in places that have direct exposure to dust, dew, water, and snow. Fixtures with IP65 rating feature protection against low pressure water jets from all directions as well as condensation and spray. IP65 rated products are considered suitable for indoor and outdoor spaces that won’t encounter harsh weather like flooding where they can possibly be submerged in water.

IP67

IP67-rated fixtures are used in places that have direct exposure to dust, dew, water, and snow.

IP67-rated fixtures are also robust, offering more protection against liquid ingress than an IP65-rated fixture.
