Because we are all heading ot Calgary in January, there are a few essential tips to help you prepare and make the most of your trip. Calgary’s winter can be cold and snowy, but it’s also a great time to experience its outdoor activities, culture, and hospitality!
Ensure you’re travel-ready by checking that your passport is valid. You’ll need it to enter Canada, so double-check its expiration date well in advance.
In Calgary, the official currency is the Canadian Dollar (CAD). Be sure to have some on hand for smaller purchases, though credit cards are widely accepted.
January in Calgary can be very cold, with temperatures typically ranging from -10°C to -20°C (14°F to -4°F), and it can feel even colder with windchill. It’s not uncommon for temperatures to dip even lower, so dressing in layers is key.
Ensure you know where our hotel and meetings are taking place. Calgary’s downtown area is compact, but traffic can be challenging in winter, so leave extra time for travel.
